I'm currently a freelance writer for Asian Correspondent, an Internet news site that reports and aggregates news and information from the continent.
Starting November 2009, I become a journalism fellow at Cambodia's oldest English-language newspaper, The Phnom Penh Post, where I hone my writing and journalism skills at its newsroom, through a scholarship of The Sasakawa Peace Foundation, whose 'unifying goal is to expose the editors of tomorrow to the full rigours of publishing a daily newspaper'. The main project I'm working on now, aside from covering and writing news stories for its dual-language paper, is to build and promote the web presence of LIFT (The Post's newly-launched weekly magazine for young Cambodians).
Since late 2005 I have been a contributing writer for Global Voices Online, a citizen media project founded at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School. I covered Cambodian blogosphere and have my writings published on the world's largest weblog aggregator. I've interviewed and profiled some of Cambodia's prominent bloggers. This work has brought me to London and Delhi to give talks on the emergence and rising of citizen media in Cambodia. Early this 2010, I gave a talk about Cambodia's citizen media to journalism students at Royal University of Phnom Penh. I began blogging as early as May 2004. In 2008, I initated and run the first user-generated conference on Web 2.0 and technology-related in the Cambodian capital, where more than three hundred technology enthusiasts participated.
I majored in Business Management from Cambodia's National University of Management in 2004. I worked full-time for The Asia Foundation, an American think tank, as an Information Technlogy Manager from 2006 until 2009.
During my spare time, I help individuals and small businesses to launch their Internet sites and make the most out of web technologies and digital media.
